Acupuncture

Jan is traditionally trained and has had many years’ experience in acupuncture. Acupuncture is a system of complementary medicine in which fine needles are inserted in the skin at specific points along what are considered to be lines of energy (meridians), used in the treatment of various physical and mental conditions.

The Chinese have developed a fairly complete systemic method of acupuncture; cataloged and described in many text books, it is taught at universities and is reproducible under experimental conditions.
Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that illness is caused by blockage of energy flow in the body.

Acupuncture is a method of stimulating the flow of energy to promote health and long life. Energy (Qi/Chi) is distributed throughout our body by the meridians on which acupuncture points are located. These points can be stimulated by pressure, needling and/or application of heat (moxa).

Back Care

It has been said that, at some stage throughout life, 80% of the population may experience back pain in some form or another.

I aim to identify and address the causes whether they be direct trauma or a slow build up.

I’ll assist you to get back on track and equip you with techniques to help prevent recurrence by ‘working smarter, not harder’.

Younger/School Aged Patients

Issues may arise with ‘growing’ whether you are really active or not quite so.

There may be an acute onset e.g. a rolled ankle or twisted knee or the slower onset e.g. sitting in front of a computer, studying for exams or even changing your activity levels.

Often these conditions are not so much a ‘disease’ but more postural and growth related.

At TAT we can treat the symptoms as well as showing you what YOU can do to make things better.

Work Place Injuries & Employment Screening

You may have a work place injury or an employment aggravated issue.

By addressing the causative factors and by using the tools of hands on, manual therapy and exercise you’ll be involve in the process of ‘getting better’.

Jan also has significant experience in pre-employment screening and functional capacity evaluations.

Pre & post Operative Care

Whether it be a minor procedure or something more significant, what we offer will be of benefit for you.

This would include hands on, supervised rehabilitation through to an ongoing self-management programme.
